When Will Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 Be Available?

Originally believed to be routine maintenance, Epic Games has encountered an unexpected error during the latest update, forcing them to extend the downtime period for Fortnite for a few more hours than initially planned.

On the official Fortnite Status page on X (formerly Twitter), the company initially apologized for the issues and announced they’ll need to extend their maintenance for at least eight more hours. But then on the official Fortnite Server Status website, the downtime was extended. Because of this, we can expect servers to be down at least until 8:00 PM ET, or 5:00 PM PST.

No specific details were provided about what could have caused these issues. While such problems are to be expected during big updates, it’s quite uncommon for something to break the game to the point of having such lengthy maintenance times. As this article is being written, no compensation has been announced either.

Fortnite is entering its fifth chapter of the current season and is bringing many exclusive Olympian-themed skins such as Zeus and Hades, as well as adding plenty of similar elements to the environment. From mythological areas such as The Underworld to new temporary items such as the Thunderbolt of Zeus, it’s time to learn what it means to be a mythical God on the battlefield. When servers are finally back, of course.
