Animal Crossing New Horizons: How to Unlock Able Sisters

If you are wondering about whether or not the Able Sisters are around in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, well, we can tell you – they are. There’s actually a whole list that we compiled early on about all the confirmed returning characters in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and we’ve relinked that guide right here for your convenience. However, let’s circle back around to the Able Sisters. These two are spiny sisters who have a penchant for fashion, and they are historic owners of clothing establishments in the series. Once you unlock them, you’ll then be able to up your game.

To unlock the Able Sisters in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you’re going to have to speak to one of the sisters – Mabel – twice. You will encounter Mabel only after you’ve built the following buildings on your island:

  • Museum (Blathers)
  • Nook’s Cranny

You’ll speak to her for the first time after both structures are a part of your item’s ecosystem. After you speak to Mable, she will show up once more at a stall. If you remember what building the museum was like, it’s gonna take some time to unlock the Able Sisters. Like Blathers, there’s a rudimentary version of the full Able Sisters store that you’ll be able to experience before you unlock it properly. In this case, Mabel will operate a small stall selling shoes, socks, and clothes. Once you’ve enjoyed her wares and spoken to her twice, you’ll be able to have the option to help her construct the Able Sisters tailor shop. It takes the shop 48 hours to build, or two in-game days, so a little longer than the museum but we definitely think that it’s worth the wait.

Now that you know how to unlock the Able Sisters in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you will be able to add a whole bunch of fashion flair to your playthrough. We reckon it’s nigh essential to get on the Able Sisters’ good side here, because for those of us who aren’t necessarily blessed with the creative skills to make our own designs, they’re the best place to get fresh digs!
