Alphesio is the newest champion that will be joining the League of Legends roster. However, he will not be alone when he steps onto the rift. The new character will be joined by his sister Alune who supplies Aphelios with a powerful arsenal of weapons to use in battle. According to the official biography of Aphelios released by Riot Games, the character has been rendered mute by a poison. However, “he is guided by his sister Alune in her distant temple sanctuary from where she pushes an arsenal of moonstone weapons into his hands. For as long as the moon shines overhead, Aphelios will never be alone.”
Players have learned that Alune and her twin brother Aphelios were celebrated as children of destiny by those of Targon’s Lunari Faith. While Aphelios went on dangerous missions to protect the Lunari faith from those who called those who practiced it heretics, his sister trained as a seer. She was able to use her magic to reveal hidden pathways and truths by the light of the moon. Soon, she was tasked with leaving the temple where she and Aphelios had been raised. An ancient temple known as the Marus Omegnum then appeared, and she was chosen to be the first occupant of the temple in centuries.
However, the story of these two League of Legends individuals would then take a turn for the worse when the Solari attacked the Lunari during this ritual that saw Alune enter the temple. The sister of Aphelios was able to make her way into the heart of the temple and reach her full potential when the Lunari looked all but defeated. She was then able to bestow enormous power and weapons onto her brother and help him overcome the Solari in crushing fashion.
Now, the League of Legends story sees Alune isolated in the magical temple helping Aphelios protect the Lunari faith from all attackers.
