Alone in the Dark: All Lagniappes & Where to Find Them

Aside from puzzles and mysteries, Alone in the Dark is also brimming with hidden items known as the Lagniappes. They unlock extra info, special items, and even new endings if you complete all sets, which is a daunting but not impossible task. Here’s where to find all Lagniappes in Alone in the Dark.

All Lagniappes Locations in Alone in the Dark Listed

There are 45 Lagniappes in total in the game, some of them being exclusive to a certain protagonist. You have to play through the game twice to get all of them and get the whole picture of what’s happening in Derceto. If you missed a Lagniappe or two in your first playthrough, it’ll be there for you in the second one (as long as it’s not character-exclusive). Completing a set can unlock special endings and scenes, as well as unique items.

When it Makes You Worse

Jack in the Box	Chapter 2, in Grace’s Room. Available multiple times whenever you revisit her room.
The Flying Dutchman	Chapter 4, in the Treatment’s Room over the couch
Rorschach	Chapter 2, next to the safe in the Clerk’s Office.

Jack in the Box is the only re-obtainable Lagniappe as it’s a reference to Jack in the Dark, another game in the series with Grace as the protagonist.

Unspeakable Cults

Opera Playbill	Chapter 4, in the Small Parlor at 1F when first returning to Decerto
Map of Caribbean	Chapter 4, in the Sitting Room. Retrieve the France key from Mr. Gray’s office and use it in the world globe found next to the door
Pallid Mask	Chapter 4, in the Steamboat. Jump down from its ceiling through the red-marked opening, then grab it from the armchair.

The Crescent City

Ju-Ju	Chapter 1, in the Courtyard in the French Quarters. Right after beating the enemies by the stairs, turn to the dead end at the right

Witness the Black Pharaoh	Chapter 3, after clearing up the fog. Enter the small entry at the east portion of the street
Alone in the Dark	Chapter 2, open the safe in the Clerk’s Office early during this chapter with the password (Left 9, Right 1, Left 3)
Discarded Palette	Chapter 2, in the Hateful Mound. After fixing the bridge and climbing up the stairs, sneak around the small entry with red paint before approaching the window.

Completing this set unlocks an extra scene in the Attic.

Jangling Shaker	Chapter 4, visit the Grand Parlor’s lower floor before going for the main objectives to find it behind the counter.
Profane Totem	Chapter 4, Edward only. During Edward’s memories, after reaching the swamp, turn left to find a small shack in the opposite direction of the bridge. The Lagniappe will be there.

Completing this set unlocks Edward’s secret ending.
