All Starcat (Familiar Feline) Locations in Destiny 2

This season, our hidden collectibles are Starcats! These celestial felines enjoy hiding out in random, easy to overlook places. Each week, new Starcats will become available. We’ll likely get two Starcats at a time, meaning we’ll need almost two months to collect all 14.

Here’s the locations of the Starcats you can currently find.

How to Find the Blind Well Cat in Destiny 2

Our first Starcat is the easiest to find. Head to the Dreaming City and make your way to The Blind Well. You can opt to get there from the Divalian Mists waypoint and heading straight through the massive doors in front of you.

Once you’re in the Blind Well, go straight across past the well itself to the doors opposite where you entered.

There you’ll find the cat. If an event is taking place, just finish the event and interact with the Starcat. She’s completely unphased by all the violence.

How to Find the Garden of Plenty Starcat in Destiny 2

To find the Garden of Plenty Starcat, you must launch the Polysemy mission from the H.E.L.M.

Once you do so, you’ll need to navigate through the introductory section, where you’ll need to stand on three plates. Once these plates are activated, you can go through a portal that will take you to the Garden of Plenty.

The Starcat is located in the first section of the Garden of Plenty. You may see a Taken ogre trapped in a Vex forcefield. Or you may just see a platform with white pillars and stairs. Turn left before you get to the stairs, heading towards the cliff.

Look down from the cliff’s edge and you’ll see a Starcat near a pool of water. Drop down to interact with it and you’ll get a seasonal weapon and a Wish engram. That’s two cats down!

How to Find the Starcat in the Chamber of Starlight Lost Sector

The first Starcat we can find in week two is in the Chamber of Starlight Lost Sector in Rheasilvia in The Dreaming City. Head all the way to the end of the Lost Sector, where you’ll encounter the Wizard boss. Defeat the boss, then approach the Lost Sector chest.

Once you reach the chest, turn right. There’s another pathway that ends in a circular platform. On this platform is a table, and on the table is a Starcat.

How to Find the Starcat in the Aphelion’s Rest Lost Sector in Destiny 2

The next Starcat can also be found in a Lost Sector. In this case, the Aphelion Lost Sector, located in The Strand of the Dreaming City.

Continue through the Lost Sector like normal. Once you reach the Lost Sector chest, jump up to the platform above it.

You’ll see a gravestone-shaped rock. In front of it is a bowl. Inside the bowl is the Starcat. You can hear it purring if you get close to it. Adorable!

How to Find the Starcat in the Bay of Drowned Wishes in Destiny 2

The final Starcat of the week can be found in the Bay of Drowned Wishes in the Divalian Mists of The Dreaming City. You can find this Lost Sector by immediately turning around and jumping up the rocks once you load into the Dreaming City.

Continue through the Lost Sector until you’ve killed the boss. Once you reach the Lost Sector chest, turn right.

There will be a thin ledge with two Servitor cores. Beside these cores will be the Starcat.

How to Find the Starcat in the Gnashing Chamber in Destiny 2

Week three’s Starcats can only be found in Riven’s Lair or The Coil. And finding them comes down to luck. Each time you load into Riven’s Lair, the path you get is random. It doesn’t matter what plate you stand on at the start. For that reason, I highly recommend Riven’s Lair, as you may need to complete this activity multiple times.

The path you’ll need to get for Gnashing Chambers is the right path. You’ll see what portal you get right after passing Riven and standing on a plate for the first time.

Go through Riven’s Lair as normal by stepping on the three plates. You’ll then reach an inner chamber called the Gnashing Chambers. Almost immediately upon spawning in, look in front and slightly to the left. There will be a table against the curved wall with a cat on top of it.

This is usually the chamber where you’ll get Plaguebearers or Scorn to fight. Interact with the cat to claim it.

How to Find the Starcat in the Temple of the Queen’s Wrath in Destiny 2

The final Starcat for week three is also in Riven’s Lair or in The Coil, inside the Temple of the Queen’s Wrath. This chamber will only spawn from the central path.

You’ll see what portal you get after passing by Riven once you load in and stand on a plate. The left path will have you fighting Vex, the middle path will have you fighting Taken, and the right path will have you fighting Scorn. We want the center path. Unfortunately, the path you get once you load in is random, so you may need to complete multiple runs of Riven’s Lair before you get the right path.

Once you get the center path, go through the Lair like normal. You’ll need to stand on three plates, and then you’ll enter an inner chamber called the Temple of the Queen’s Wrath. In this chamber, you’ll usually need to defeat Taken and dunk balls into the three lanterns in the room.

But after you spawn in, turn right. Go into the enclosed alcove and turn right again. Behind the pillar will be the Temple of the Queen’s Wrath Starcat.

How to Find the Starcat in Reaver’s Orison Queen’s Wrath in Destiny 2

It’s easiest to find this week’s Starcat while completing the Apophasis story mission. Otherwise, you’ll need to find Reaver’s Orison while completing Riven’s Lair and The Coil.

If you’re finding this Starcat while completing Riven’s Lair or The Coil, you’ll know you’ll arrive at Reaver’s Orison if the first portal you take when you’re at Riven’s is on the left. Unfortunately, the portal you get when you start one of these activities is completely random.

Once you make it to Reaver’s Orison, which is defined by an open area and Vex, head to the dead tree to the right of the path.

Hidden amongst its roots is a Starcat!

That’s the only Starcat for week 4.

How to Find the Starcat in the Spine of Keres in Destiny 2

The Star Cat in the Spine of Keres can be found by heading to the Dreaming City. Load into the Divalian Mists, then head left. Follow the beaten path and you’ll enter the Spine of Keres. You’ll find yourself in a clearing full of Taken.

There are two paths in this clearing. Take the right one and you’ll enter a white building.

Follow the stairs that wind right and it will open up to the left onto a balcony. Here, you’ll find a Techeuns and a Star Cat beside her.

How to Find the Cell of the Sycophant Starcat in Destiny 2

So, this Star Cat is currently bugged, as of January 2, 2024. It should appear in the Cell of the Sycophant in Riven’s Lair or the Coil, which can be accessed by going through the middle portal. This is the room where you’ll light three torches by killing Wizards.

We’ll update this space when the Star Cat is fixed.

How to Find the Star Cat in the Garden of Eslia in Destiny 2

To find the Garden of Eslia cat, load up the Dreaming City and head right. You’ll see quite a bit of mist on the water. Head towards the center of the mist and you’ll find yourself at a tunnel that will take you straight to the Strand.

Once you enter the Strand, turn right.

Follow this trail and you’ll enter the Garden of Eslia. Keep going straight until you reach this bridge. The Star Cat is beneath this bridge!

How to Find the Star Cat in the Confluence in Destiny 2

From the Garden of Eslia, which can be accessed from the Strand, continue forward past the bridge where you found the last Star Cat. You’ll find a Taken portal in an open building.

Enter it and you’ll be taken to the Shattered Throne. There’s one path forward until you hit the Confluence. Once you reach the Confluence central chamber, there will be four paths. In front of you will be a statue. But where we want to go is right.

You’ll know you’ve picked the right direction if there’s a circular depression in the center of the chamber. Head to the back and you’ll see the Confluence Star Cat.

How to Find the Harbinger’s Seclude Starcat in Destiny 2

To find the Harbinger’s Seclude Star Cat, head back to the Divalian Mists in the Dreaming City. Take the leftmost tunnel to enter Rheasilvia.

Follow the white path until you get to the Blight-infested tower.

Enter, then continue straight, past the statue, until you enter the Harbinger’s Seclude. Continue through the temple until you can drop down.

Do so, then immediately turn around.

You can go down a set of stairs, which will lead you into a room with another drop. Drop down then enter the chamber full of Taken. Once they’re handled, turn left and you’ll see an alcove with a skull. Behind this skull is the very hidden Harbinger’s Seclude Star Cat.

How to Find the Astral Cloister Starcat in Destiny 2

The final Starcat for the Season of the Wish is cloistered in the Astral Cloister. I gained access to this arena by taking the rightmost portal. You’ll know you’re in the right location if you find yourself in an area similar to what you experienced during the Ascendant Challenge. It’s an arena set in a spacey-like realm, with floating rock platforms. You’ll know you’re in the right place if you see Scorn.

Once you spawn in, jump to the central platform. There, to your right, you’ll be able to see a lone platform with a very tall statue. Jump to the statue’s platform and look in front of it. You’ll find a sphere. I couldn’t see the Starcat which is in front of this sphere. Perhaps it just blended in too well or my fireteam’s interaction with it caused it to “vanish”. I did receive the button prompt and the Triumph for interacting with this space though.

With that done, all the Starcats have been found!
