Star Rail Rating Pistol Featured

All Rating Pistol Scores in Honkai: Star Rail

What is the logic behind this thing?!

Herta Space Station houses many different Curios, and one of them is the mysterious Rating Pistol. It gives a different score depending on which character you’re using when you interact with it, and while some scores might not make any sense, it’s fun to see those curious numbers popping up.

What is the Rating Pistol in Honkai: Star Rail?

The Rating Pistol is located in the Storage Zone of Herta Space Station and can be freely interacted with. It’s item number 752 on Herta’s collection, and its description claims that it “rates creatures on sight using unknown scoring logic.”

And true to its description, all of its scores make no sense. Characters have the same rating regardless of their level, equipment, or upgraded Traces, and it seems like there’s no logic to be followed. Characters known to be powerful lore-wise will randomly get higher or lower scores. Jingliu gets 0, while Dan Heng gets 88 in both playable forms, for example.

Many other theories have been raised for which parameters the pistol uses, but none of them seems to be consistent between characters. The Curio Management Log readable book describes some studies made with the Pistol. For some reason, a glass door ranks 10, while Pom-Pom only ranks 1.

The most likely explanation is that the Pistol is just another joke left by the devs, but knowing how this game works, there will probably be a good explanation for the ratings in the future. For now, let’s just take those numbers for granted.

All Characters Rating Pistol Scores Listed

These are all of the scores for the playable characters in the game. As mentioned before, all of these scores are seemingly random, and we have no explanation of which criteria Pistol uses for measuring. Some characters have an invalid rating; no further explanation is given either.

Each new character gets their rating as soon as they’re added. There might be an event in the future where the logic behind this mysterious Curio will be explained. But for now, it’s just another one in Herta’s extensive collection that makes for some small easter eggs. Maybe the pistol itself might be added someday in the Simulated Universe just like many other items in her collection.
