All Playable Characters in One Piece Odyssey

Team work makes getting out of a memory-based dimension work

by Daphne Fama

One Piece Odyssey will be hitting consoles and Steam on January 13 and to say we’re excited is an understatement. This JRPG will bring to the forefront all the friendship, banter, combat, and exploration you’d expect from a One Piece game, but who are the playable characters in One Piece Odyssey?

Here’s everything you need to know.

All Playable Characters in One Piece Odyssey

In One Piece Odyssey, the Straw Hat Crew has been struck by a terrible storm that’s shot them straight into a different dimension. Their ship Sunny lands off the coast of a mysterious island called Waford, but it’s taking on water fast. It’ll need a lot of tender loving care if it ever hopes to sail again. But there are more pressing matters at hand. Like how is the Straw Hat Crew even going to return to their old dimension and the familiar seas they love?

They’ll need every crew member if they want to conquer this island and unravel its puzzles. Fortunately, in One Piece Odyssey, you’ll be able to change your party team leader at will. Do you want to play as Tony Tony Chopper? What about Usopp? Those are all choices available to you.

In fact, you’ll need to switch between characters to complete certain missions, side quests, and access other areas. For example, Chopper can squeeze into narrow areas, Sanji can get cooking ingredients, Usopp can knock down things using his slingshot, and Zoro can slice away barriers. Every member of the Straw Hat Crew brings something valuable to the table. That’s the beauty of One Piece.

Here’s every character you’ll be able to play as, in alphabetical order:

  • Brook
  • Franky
  • Monkey D. Luffy
  • Nami
  • Nico Robin
  • Roronoa Zoro
  • Sanji
  • Tony Tony Chopper
  • Usopp

Personally, I’ll be doing my best to play exclusively as Nico Robin.
