All New Machines in Horizon Forbidden West Burning Shores

Fresh mechanical animals to disassemble

Burning Shores arrived exclusively on PlayStation 5 as an expansion for Horizon Forbidden West, and it includes, in addition to the continuation of the story and new territories to explore, a couple of completely new machines that you will be able to fight against, learn their tactics and weaknesses, and even override and tame some of them. Here are all the new machines in Horizon Forbidden West Burning Shores DLC.

Check out the list below for all the new machine opponents that Aloy and Seyka will face in Burning Shores.

Bilegut

The first new machine you will encounter in Burning Shores is the Bilegut – a robot frog! You would expect that the mechanical toad would be small and that this critter will not pose a big problem for Aloy, however – it’s big, and very very acidic. What’s worse, it can also produce swarms of Stingspawn – mechanical insects that can easily flood the battlefield.

Stingspawn

Annoying tiny flying insect-like machines that attack in swarms and “hatch” from eggs laid by Bilegut, destroy them quickly with Shock Damage attacks.

Waterwing

A variation of the Sunwing from Forbidden West, the Waterwing is a sort of pterodactyl robot that has a pelican-like beak that can dive underwater. Aloy will learn to override this machine during the main story of Burning Shores because being able to fly and go underwater when needed will be necessary for progress at one point in the game.

Horus

Spoiler? The final boss in Burning Shores, Horus is a giant weapon of destruction that will be activated and controlled by the expansion’s main villain, Walter Londra, in an attempt to stop Aloy and Seyka from ruining his plans. This is one of the most challenging and well-realized boss fights in the Horizon games to date.

That would be all the brand-new machines added to the Burning Shores expansion for Forbidden West. There aren’t many of them, but they are very well incorporated into the campaign and the new beautiful environments of the volcanic islands around Los Angeles. In addition to them, there are also a lot of machines that return from previous games, but in their more powerful APEX forms. Happy hunting!
