While you can do your best to keep Shadows away from the real world in Persona 3 Reload, you can’t stop people from wandering into Tartarus on their own after being influenced by them. But you can rescue them and be rewarded for your efforts, though.
All Missing People in Tartarus in Persona 3 Reload
During 6/18, Elizabeth will request your presence to inform you about people who have gone missing inside Tartarus. They must be rescued before the next full moon, or they’ll be lost forever. After being introduced to the concept, Elizabeth will call you during early mornings to inform you about more missing people.
Sometimes, people will get lost in Tartarus on different days before the same full moon, so you can wait until the last person during that month gets lost before rescuing them all. All past and current missing people can be viewed on the Bulletin Board in front of the Paulownia Mall Police Station, and Officer Kurosawa will reward you for rescuing them if you visit him afterward.
More importantly, some of your Social Link characters will get lost in Tartarus eventually, and they’ll be unavailable until you go and rescue them. If you don’t save them, they’ll perish inside Tartarus, and you’ll be unable to complete the Social Link for the rest of the game. If you already completed them, they won’t appear or are mentioned again for the rest of the game.

Once you find a missing person, you can return to the entrance alongside them or ask for an escort (a random non-assigned party member) to bring them back. Elizabeth can inform you where the person’s presence is coming from, and Fuuka can directly pinpoint them once you get close enough.
Additionally, animals can also get lost inside Tartarus. You won’t get board or text notifications for them, but Elizabeth informs you about “special guests” inside Tartarus when you ask her about the missing person’s whereabouts.
Animals have the same rules of rescuing people. Rescuing these animals immediately grants you Twilight Fragments, being a good source for these items. The higher the floor, the more Fragments you get, so don’t miss the chance of being both a person and a pet’s hero. It always pays off.
