All Materials Required for Ascending Kamisato Ayato in Genshin Impact

Here we go again to find Handguards….

by Jordan Lemons

We trek back across the seas to the previously isolated islands of Inazuma all in preparation for the arrival of one Kamisato Ayato of Genshin Impact. Hoyoverse really dropped morsels and crumbs of this character leading up to his debut and now, we are seeing his next rerun. But before you see him home, you have to lure him with treasures, treasures he’ll actually need and hopefully care about. Here’s all the materials required for ascending Kamisato Ayato in Genshin Impact.

The Watery Boss in the Deep

Ayato’s Boss lies in the caverns just below the northeast parts of Watatsumi Island, just west of Suigetsu Pool. You can easily nab the waypoint there and travel by foot or by sea to make the waterfall drop. Be sure to have your gliders ready so as not to lose a unit right from the get-go. The drop won’t land you right into the boss’ territory but the waterfall is shallow and not enough to drop in safely. The Hydro Hypostasis will drop both the Dew of Repudiation and Varunada Lazurite, making it all the easier to collect the materials you’ll need to ascend Kamisato Ayato. Be sure to bring a Cryo or a strong Electro or Pyro, at the end of the fight, you’ll have to get rid of three large slimes that make their way toward the Hydro Hypostasis and will refill their health if they manage to make it. Using Cryo against them gets rid of them fastest and freezes them into place, but if your DPS is strong enough, they may just be able to take it out in no sweat.

Running Amok in Narukami

The next item that Ayato is going to need is Sakura Blossoms, luckily, these are organized in a fairly small space on Narukami Island. They don’t require you to run around all over Inazuma, but it may take a couple of days for you to gather them all. From the shrine down to even the fields of the nearby villages, Sakura Blossoms can be found just about everywhere. Even in the tree of the village just outside of Inazuma City and especially around Mt. Yougou near the Grand Narukami Shrine. Just remember to have an Electro team member out so that they can activate the blossoms for you to collect. Running through them will only spread them out and you won’t be able to gather them. You can also gather Electrogana, running through the Blossoms with an Electrogana attached to your teammate will activate the Sakura Blossoms for you to gather.

The last of which Ayato is going to need are Handguards. Probably one of the most difficult drops to find within Inazuma since while there are plenty of Nobushi to gather them from, it isn’t guaranteed that they will drop many if at all. They do respawn every day so it’s only a matter of farming them daily until you have enough to ascend him to his fullest level 90. The Nobushi are found primarily around grouped together in northern Jinren Island, Kannazuka, and Yashiori Island. To help gather more, you should tackle a couple of the leylines in Inazuma for your usual ley line run, that way when you are gathering Hero’s Wits, you can also run into the chance of Nobushi spawning. Leyline enemies, once defeated, will drop their usual loot unlike within domains so it’s double the reward for the work you have to do! And, of course, if you find that you cannot find any more Nobushi in your world, you can go to your Adventurer’s Journal and select the Enemies tag. If you select the Nobushi, there will be an option called Navigate that will lead you around the Inazuman map to large gatherings of that enemy to make it easier to find them.

  • x1 Varunada Lazurite Sliver, x9 Varunada Lazurite Fragment, x9 Varunada Lazurite Chunk, x6 Varunada Lazurite Gemstone
  • x46 Dew of Repudiation
  • X168 Sakura Blossoms
  • x18 Old Handguard, x30 Kageuchi Handguard, x36 Famed Handguard

Talent Materials in Inazuma

Kamisato Ayato requires the Elegance Talent Level-Up Materials in Inazuma, found in the Violet Court just South of Narukami Island. Fairly easy to get from Amakane Island, there is even a Waverider Waypoint on this island so you can summon your boat to yourself and make easy tidings over to the domain. Like any other talent, Elegance interchanges with the other two talents in the domain but can be found on Tuesday and Friday. On Sunday, all talent options become available so if you find you need a few more, there’s always Sunday to gather the rest.

The other item you’re going to need to ascend Ayato’s Talent Levels are Handguards, which is easily going to be my thirteenth reason for this particular run of Ayato and Raiden so shortly after Scaramouche. If you find that you are lacking in the resources, do remember that you can also drop by Paimon’s Bargains. After gathering all of these characters if you so choose to do so then there is going to be plenty of Starglitter to nab a few of the lesser Handguards to help get you started.

Once you get to Level Six, Ayato is going to need World Boss Drops. The one he specifically needs is tied into the Raiden Shogun’s second Story Quest so before you can even begin to plan for his later Level-Ups. Out of the three drops that you can obtain from End of the Oneiric Euthymia, Ayato is going to need the Mudra of the Malefic General. A hand-like relic that drops from the World Boss, but if you happen to not get enough then you can head to your nearest crafting table to trade them in. Using Dream Solvent, you can change the World Boss materials to what you need or continue farming until you have enough. Dream Solvent can be dropped from any World Boss, so it doesn’t hurt to still challenge the World Boss.
