Version exclusives are a two-decades-old tradition that won’t go away in Pokemon titles, and it’s once again present in the Indigo Disk DLC for Scarlet and Violet. Here’s all Indigo Disk version exclusive Pokemon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

All Version Exclusives in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet The Indigo Disk

There is a total of 12 version-exclusive Pokemon in The Indigo Disk DLC, including evolutions and the new Paradox Legendaries. They can only be obtained in either Scarlet or Violet, so you’ll have to find someone with the opposite version if you want to finish your Dex, but it shouldn’t take long to do it.

The Indigo Disk Exclusive Pokemon in Pokemon Scarlet

If you’re playing the past-centered Pokemon Scarlet version, these are the exclusive Pokemon you can get in this version:

  • Alolan Vulpix.
  • Alolan Ninetales.
  • Cranidos.
  • Rampardos.
  • Raging Bolt.
  • Gorging Fire.

The Indigo Disk Exclusive Pokemon in Pokemon Violet

If you have the futuristic Pokemon Violet version, you’ll be able to find these little fellas in the wild:

  • Alolan Sandshrew.
  • Alolan Sandslash.
  • Shieldon.
  • Bastiodon.
  • Iron Crown.
  • Iron Boulder.

Where to Catch the Indigo Disk Version Exclusive Pokemon in Scarlet and Violet

  • Pokemon Indigo Disk Version Exclusives Fossil
  • Pokemon Indigo Disk Version Exclusives Alolan

The Alolan forms can be found around the Polar Biome, while the fossil Pokemon can be seen wandering around the Canyon Biome on the big “island” with a heart-shaped lake. They’re all somewhat of a rare spawn, so you might not see them as soon as you reach said areas. Good luck with the catching!

Getting the new Paradox Pokemon, on the other hand, is on the harder side. You’ll need to catch at least 200 Pokemon in the Terarium before you can get the “hot tip” from Perrin. The girl reveals she has spotted both version exclusives inside Area Zero, so make a trip for it to catch them. They have the usual extremely low Legendary catch rates, so bring tons of Pokeballs (or a Master Ball) with you.

Trade Codes for Pokemon Indigo Disk Exclusives

Trade codes simplify the process of finding a certain Pokemon drastically. What you do is first find a trade code, then go to the Poke Portal, click on Link Trade, then “Set Link Code,” then type in the trade code. Once that’s done, you’ll match with everyone else who put in the same code as you. This means that you’ll only get matched for people looking to trade that specific Pokemon.

Youtuber Austin John Plays put out a set of trade codes for people to use, which we’ll list down below:

  • Cranidos for Shieldon – 0408 0410
  • Alolan Vulpix for Alolan Sandshrew – 0027 0037
  • Raging Bolt for Iron Crown – 1021 1023
  • Gouging Fire for Iron Boulder – 1020 1022

As always, trading is still the way to go for completionists, so call your friends and start helping each other with your Dex, or you might want to use some special trading codes for that, which will work just fine.
