Each of your eight party members can unlock two EX skills that are unique to them. The first EX skill is obtained by visiting the altar of the class they’re associated with. Osvald, for example, must visit the Altar of the Scholarking to unlock his first EX Skill. Ochette must visit the Altar of the Hunter in order to unlock hers. The second EX skill is obtainable only by completing that character’s entire arc. That means finishing Chapters 1 through 5.

Agnea’s EX Skills in Octopath Traveler 2

• Altar EX Skill: Windy Refrain. Deal wind-based damage to all foes, and cause your allies to act first on the next turn.
• Story EX Skill: Song of Hope. Extends the party’s current buffs by 1/2/3/4 turns. This does not affect divine skills.

Altar Location: Altar of the Lady of Grace, found on the Northern Wellgrove Trail.

Castti’s EX Skills in Octopath Traveler 2

• Altar EX Skill: Remedy. Grant a random ally 3/5/7/9 positive status effects.
• Story EX Skill: Drastic Measures. Unleash a powerful axe attack on a single foe and nullify their status ailments and enfeebling effects. The more you nullify, the more potent the attack.

Altar Location: Altar of the Charitable. Found on Northern Conning Creek Coast.

Hikari’s EX Skills in Octopath Traveler 2

• Altar EX Skill: Ultimate Stance. Extend the reach of your Attack to all foes for 3/5/7/9 turns.
• Story EX Skill: Shinjumonjigiri. Unleash a sword attack on all foes, then a powerful sword attack on a single foe.

Altar Location: Altar of the Thunderblade. Found on the Eastern Sai Sands.

Ochette’s EX Skills in Octopath Traveler 2

• Altar EX Skill: Indomitable Beast. Raise your physical attack, evasion, and speed for 3/5/7/9 turns.
• Story EX Skill: Provoke Beasts. Select 3/4/5/6 monsters and provoke them in order.

Altar Location: Altar of the Huntress. Found on Western Tropu’hopu Traverse.

Osvald’s EX Skills in Octopath Traveler 2

• Altar EX Skill: Teach. Grant a single ally your attribute-raising effects for 2/3/4/5 turns.    
• Story EX Skill: One True Magic. Deal highly powerful magic damage that transcends the elements to all foes, and reduce their Shield Points regardless of their weak points.

Altar Location: Altar of the Scholarking. Found on Western Winterbloom Snows.

Partitio’s EX Skills in Octopath Traveler 2

• Altar EX Skill: Negotiate Schedule. Pay a single foe to let you act during their turn.
• Story EX Skill: Share SP. Grant a single ally 25%/50%/75%/all of your remaining SP.

Altar Location: Altar of the Trader. Found on the Southern Crackridge Wilds.

Temenos’s EX Skills in Octopath Traveler 2

• Altar EX Skill: Prayer for Plenty. Restore HP to a single ally, ignoring their max HP.
• Story EX Skill: Heavenly Shine. Consume all your SP, then deal light-based damage to all foes. The more SP consumed, the more potent the attack.

Altar Location: Altar of the Flamebringer. Found at Borderfall.

Throne’s EX Skills in Octopath Traveler 2

• Altar EX Skill: Veil of Darkness. Deal dark-based damage to all foes, and dodge 1 physical attack with a 100% success rate.
• Story EX Skill: Disguise. Disguise a single ally for 2/4/6/8 turns.

Altar Location: Altar of the Prince of Thieves. Found on Southern Clockbank Highroad.
