Dr. Ratio is a 5-star character in Honkai: Star Rail who’s being distributed for free from the 1.6 update until the end of the 2.0 patch. And since we don’t get a free character every day, here’s everything you’ll need to level him and get rid of your account’s ignorance.

Dr. Ratio is a Hunt Imaginary character with gameplay based around debuffs and follow-up attacks. His element is currently very rare, which makes him very interesting for players who didn’t roll for DHIL. And even for those who did, his personal damage is just too good to sleep on.

You can get the Suppressing Edicts from the Stagnant Shadow: Shape of Puppetry boss located in the Artisanship Commission at the Xianzhou Luofu. It is weak to Quantum, Lightning, and Wind attacks, so any team based on those should have an easy time farming it. At Trailblaze Level 60 or higher, beat it up to 13 times to get all materials.
The Thief’s Instinct and its evolutions are obtained from Antimatter Legion enemies found mostly on Herta’s Space Station. Alternatively, send your characters in Assignments to grab some more of these if you somehow don’t have enough of them.

As for the Arrows, these are obtained by repeatedly farming the Crimson Calyx in the Outlying Snow Plains in Jarilo-VI. Since you always get a random amount in each run, it can take you a good while before you’re done with these, so expect to visit it again and again for some time.
The Past Evil special material is obtained by defeating the Echo of War: Borehole Planet’s Old Crater boss located in the Secluded Zone in Herta’s Space Station. The weekly challenge was introduced in 1.6 and it’s recommended to bring Ice, Physical, and Imaginary characters for this one. Ratio itself is quite efficient against it once you get a few levels and relics on him.
You can pre-farm the whole kit for the upcoming 5-star, and you don’t need to farm for the whole list if you’re not maxing out all of his Traces. You’ll need 42 less purple Arrow items if you’re not leveling them to 10, for example. And honestly, leveling them to 10 is more of a luxury than a necessity. Unless you’re not affected by the abysmal low Calyx drop rates, of course.
