All Companion Skills in Starfield

Every companion features unique skills, some are better than others!

They say traveling the galaxy solo is a lonely experience. Thankfully, Starfield features many unique companions, some of which will follow behind you like a lost puppy. Others, thankfully, will remain on your starship as crew. But those who follow you feature unique skills that make a difference in combat and mission encounters, like persuasion and lockpicking. How Companion Skills Work

As to how companion skills work in Starfield, consider them an extension of your skills. Regarding combat skills, like Ballistics, a companion’s level will benefit them in the field. They will deal additional damage with, say, a Grendel.

But for starship-based skills, like Piloting or Shield Systems, those skills benefit your entire spaceship. A companion with Shield Systems will improve your ship’s shield systems, thereby increasing your survivability in space encounters.

And lastly, there are outpost-specific skills. These improve the output and efficiency of outpost structures and modules, like mining and manufacturing setups.

To use these companion skills effectively, keep an eye on what each one is and does, then assign that crew member to the appropriate location.
