How to Get Free Early Game Items in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2

As you wander the lands of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, you will find many items you can get for free, either by stealing or with the help of your talking skills. Below are some items you can get on your first day in the game:

Skalitz Axe

In Troskowitz, there is a powerful axe you can pick up from a house that is strong enough to protect you from wild animals or some unarmed enemies. To get the Skalitz Axe, head to the marked house southwest of Troskowitz on the map. You will find the axe on a table inside the hut.

Von Bergow Knight Shield

Shields are necessary for your defense against enemies in the game, and you can get one of the best early-game shields from the grave of one of Von Bergow’s soldiers.

Head south of Troskowitz near the forest to find a grave beside a large rock. You will find it right before the forest area starts, inside a bush. Dig up the grave to get the Von Bergow Knight Shield and other valuable items.

Dogwood Village Bow

A Bow and arrows will help you in long-range combat and maintain distance from enemies. You can get a bow for free by going northwest of Troskowitz and looking for a target on a tree.

It looks like someone has been practicing their archery skills on a target in the woods and has left the bow and arrows behind. You can pick them up by going to the marked location on the map. Grab the Dogwood Village bow and loot the sack beside it to find some arrows, a Marksman’s kit, and a skill book.

Golden Doppelganger Badge

At the same location as the previous item, you will see an Egg Nest on top of the tree from where you picked up the Dogwood Village Bow. Shoot down the nest, and examine it to get the Golden Doppelganger Badge.

It is a badge item you can use three times in a game of Dice or Farkle to double the points of your last dice throw. This will help you get high scores and win your games easily.

Pebbles (Horse)

Pebbles made her first appearance in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 1, where you get her as a reward for saving Sir Hans Capon. In the second installment of the game, you lose Pebbles after you get ambushed by Nomads at the start. However, you can find Pebbles and get her as your first horse after talking to a Horse Trader in Semine.

To get Pebbles for free, head to Semine and look for Pebbles among the other horses. It will trigger a short cutscene. After the cutscene, talk to the Horse Trader about Pebbles. Choose the “Be reasonable” dialogue option to convince the trader to give you Pebble for free.

Now you have a decent horse with which you can travel the land easily. Moreover, once you travel 35 km with the horse, it unlocks the Good Old Pebbles perk, which further improves the horse’s stats.

Dagger

A dagger is useful when you want to approach enemies silently and take them out without alerting the nearby enemies. You can get one early on in the game by going to the Semine Pond. On the wooden boardwalk, loot the food basket to get the Dagger and other consumable items.

Knight Bunswick’s Legendary Armor Set

There is a complete armor set ready to be looted once you get started, but only for players who pre-ordered the game. You can get Sir Brunswick’s legendary armor set after you talk to Bara and Scribe Gaibl in Troskowitz. He will give you a riddle that you can solve to reveal the locations of each armor piece.

Follow our all Brunswick’s Armor pieces location guide to get the armor set in no time.

These are all the items you can get early on in the game that will help you get a better start on your journey in the unforgiving land of Bohemia. For more guides on the game, check out the best ways to make money in the early game.
