GameStop has announced today that it has begun taking pre-orders for the new Wikipad device.  It’s an Android tablet with detachable gamepad controls, and pretty dang slick when it comes to gaming action, as it supports PlayStation Mobile and Gaikai, and is set to also handle OnLive once their mobile service launches.

The pre-order will set you back $499 — a decent price for a stocked tablet — and you’ll be able to pick it up at retail starting next month, on spooky Halloween, October 31st.

If you want technical specs, here you go.  The Wikipad has Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean), a 10.1″ screen, 1200 X 800 resolution, an Nvidia Tegra 3 T30 1.4 GHz processor, 1 GB DDR 2 RAM and 16 GB of flash storage, with the ability to expand to 64 GB.

One last thing — those who pre-order the device at GameStop will have access to “exclusive free, full-length game titles” as well as a digital edition of Game Informer.

Head to GameStop here to get cracking!
