Watch Dogs to Have an Interesting Take On Multiplayer

by Prima Games Staff

Some new details were revealed this week for Ubisoft’s upcoming Watch Dogs at a company event in San Francisco.  Though we were not able to attend, we have learned a couple of interesting new components when it comes to the game’s multiplayer.

In multiplayer, you’ll be able to invade another player’s experience by taking controls of elements surrounding the city.  For instance, during a previous gameplay demo, we saw players that were able to hack in to security cameras in order to keep track of one player’s progress as Pearce.  In another, a player could easily hack into someone else’s phone in order to plant some kind of virus, though we have yet to see what kind of extent this will have in the long-term.

However, one thing that will not change is the city itself.  Ubisoft Montreal senior producer Dominic Guay stated, “We are not making any compromises in terms of dynamism or interactivity.  Connectivity will be smooth when it comes breaching the wall in action-adventure between single and multiplayer.”

We’ll learn more about it next month at E3.  Watch Dogs will release later this year for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U and next-gen consoles.
