Clash of Clan Gifts a Free Christmas Gift and Here’s How to Get it

Clash of Clans added another surprise with their Advent Holiday Calendar event. Players already get several freebies in the form of chests through the controllable toy heroes event, but players can claim another free gift just by scanning a QR code. Here’s how to claim the Christmas gift from Clash of Clans.

How to Get the Free Christmas Gift from Clash of Clans

Here’s a photo of what Clash of Clans posted on their Facebook page. 

Use your phone’s QR scanner app to claim the prize. Once the QR code is scanned, it should automatically open the Clash of Clans game. 

After the loading screen, you’ll get a prompt: “Do you wish to claim your reward now?” Select “Claim,” and it should say, “Voucher redeemed successfully.” 

Everyone will get a free chest to open. The chest’s rarity isn’t guaranteed a legendary, but a few of my clanmates have received a legendary reward. However, I only got a rare one, so the standard gacha rates likely apply to this free Christmas chest. 

If you have problems redeeming the reward through the QR code, you can try closing your Clash of Clans application first before scanning the QR code. This worked for me as I struggled to claim the reward initially. If you still have problems, try updating and restarting your phone.

Here’s to hoping everyone gets something good in the chest! Since TH17 also recently came out, some Builder Potions and anything for base progression will be nicely appreciated.

How Long is the Christmas Event in Clash of Clans?

The Controllable Heroes: Cookie Chaos and Toyshop Throwdown event ends on January 1st. This includes the Toy Time Gold Pass for the month.

As for the free Christmas gift, it is unknown how long the QR code will work. But, the code surely worked after Christmas day, meaning it could last until the event is over.

It is extremely confusing how Clash of Clans only posted this photo on their Facebook page while other socials posted different Christmas announcements. It helps to have some clanmates tell everyone where to get it, so share this post with your CoC buddies!
