Upcoming Pokémon games to include pedometer

Coming soon to a pocket near you is the “Pokéwalker” accessory for the Nintendo DS remakes of Pokémon Gold and Silver, which will actually level up your Pokémon while you wander.

The news comes from Andriasang, who have some pictures directly given to them by the Pokémon company in Japan. It’s a little like having a Tamagotchi, and allows you to transfer a single Pokémon to the device in order to gain EXP. Apparently your walking energy will be made into “watts” which can be used to help catch Pokémon in the game, using the device will also make your Pokémon like you more.

Pokémon Heart Gold and Soul Silver are remakes of the nearly ten year old Pokémon Gold and Silver games. When we’ll see them in this country we don’t yet know, but Japan gets an end of year the release.
