Feast those eyes on the two new Cyberpunk 2077 videos that show off the game’s lifepaths and new guns! In episode 2 of the Night City Wired showcase from CD Projekt RED, the studio showed off a ton of new weaponry for V to enjoy as well as more on how the lifepaths work in-game.
For those not familiar with the tabletop experience that Cyberpunk 2077 is based off of, the lifepaths in-game off just that: life paths. Players can choose between the Nomad class, the Corpo, and the Street Kid. Each lifepath has special skills such as the Corpo, which is short for Corporate, giving players more accessible resources when it comes to the bigger players of Night City. That being said, this is an area that is ruled by gangs, so the Street Kid path more than has its own set of benefits as well.
Each lifepath gives V a unique backstory that colors their skills, how they approach the world around them, and how the world around them perceives V. The latest video goes deeper into what each lifepath has to offer players, which you can see below:
The team also showed off a new trailer that goes into more detail about the various weapons players will have at their disposal. Being limited to a pistol or guns in general is for noobs, true crime lords have bigger options to choose from. In the video below, players can choose from three classes of weaponry:
- Power
- Tech
- Smart
Each class has its own pros and cons including which heavy hitters are perfect for the enemies directly in front of players. One weapon could be massively impactful against one type of enemy only to be virtually useless against another type. Being able to understand its class and its value is key when becoming the king (or queen) of combat.
Power are the types of weapons that one would expect from a game with high shooter qualities. Tech weapons are more intricate and can pack a massive punch when one needs maximum velocity. Smart weapons are exactly what you’d expect from a tech with that name, including guided missiles that go where you tell them.
Different rarities within each class are also available, including Common all the way up to Legendary. Players can also tweak their combat style with various weapon attachments as well, which will help tailor that offensive style even more so.
