The Sequel to Breath of the Wild Has Been Delayed to Spring 2023
Originally planned to release in 2022 Aonuma states
“As we previously announced the adventure in this sequel will take place not just on the ground as in the previous game, but also in the skies above. However, the expanded world goes beyond that, and there will be an ever wider variety of features you can enjoy, including new encounters and new gameplay elements. In order to make this game’s experience something special, the entire development team is continuing to work diligently on this game, so please wait a while longer.”
This doesn’t come as a huge surprise as we’ve still seen very little of the game, and we don’t even have a proper title for the sequel yet. We got a small glimpse of some gameplay during a Nintendo Direct back in June of 2021 and since then it’s been radio silence.
This delay announcement does come with a few new shots in the video that show Link holding a different sword and some close-up shots.
Hopefully, we will see more of the game this year to hold us over until the official release sometime next year.
