35 years. We've had 35 glorious years with a game that essentially molded gaming in a way that not many realise. Tetris has been a household name for over three decades now but the brand is far from old. In fact, Tetris just revealed a brand new logo to help ring in a new wave of games and experiences to enjoy!

Tetris first came to be thanks to Alexey Pajitnov back in 1984. Little was it known that 35 years later, Tetris would continue to dominate in the gaming world with mobile spin-offs and as an acting inspiration to many other amazing games out there.

"It's been 35 years since Tetris first debuted, and just like the game's colorful Tetriminos and Line Clearing gameplay, what also remains the same is that people simply love Tetris," said Maya Rogers, President and CEO of Blue Planet Software, the sole agent for the Tetris brand. "Today, Tetris is as popular as ever among fans worldwide, and we're thrilled to share this monumental moment with them. Happy anniversary Tetris!"

The new logo, seen above, is a more modernized spin on the classic logo, meant to signal all of the exciting experiences ahead. According to the team over at Tetris, here are just a few of the exciting reveals that players can enjoy:

  • As part of the recently announced collaboration between Tetris and Sanrio, fans can now play a special Tetris game featuring the beloved Sanrio characters for free here
  • Fashion forward apparel and beauty products from ipsy, Sock It to Me, KangaCare, PEACEBIRD, and GXG.
  • New full-size arcade from AtGames® Digital Media Inc. and mini arcade systems from Super Impulse featuring Tetris games.
  • Red Bull Mind Gamers and Tetris, which partnered earlier this year in a special contest for game developers, will reveal their next collaboration in coming weeks.
