Ever since it was announced earlier this year by Activision, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows has been looking better and better. Following brief yet detailed trailers showing the characters in action, we’ve gotten a better idea of what the game will include and now we know a release date that isn’t far off.
In-between missions in the game, players will be able to spend their time in the sewer lair practicing new combos and techniques in the dojo and taking on side missions. You’ll also be able to unlock “secret retro arcade games”, though Activision hasn’t quite confirmed if these are the actual Konami arcade games or something else.
On top of that, players will be able to unlock weapon upgrades, including Raphael’s Iron Fists, Leonardo’s boomerang, Michaelangelo’s retractable nunchuck blades and Donatello’s yet-unrevealed secondary weapon. You can also increase skills in a tree system, boosting your health, damage, toughness and speed.
Out of the Shadows is being developed by Red Fly Studios and has been given a release date of June 26th, so it won’t be long before we get to deliver some shell-shock. Look for it on Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network and PC.
