Spider-Man 2 Swings Into Queens and Brooklyn, Promises Doubled Map Size

An expanded New York for Spider-Man to explore!

The wave of anticipation for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is still riding high as players are trying to find out more information about the upcoming game by Insomniac. According to the latest bits of information, the game is going to have an open world that’s twice the size compared to the original. Thus, players will have a whole new playground to do their heroic feats.

This detail was found in a recent trailer showing several new features found in the upcoming game alongside a PlayStation Blog that further elaborates on this. “We’re nearly doubling the size of Marvel’s New York. Expanding beyond the East River, you’ll swing and soar over iconic landmarks across Queens and Brooklyn – complete with story missions, side quests, and city activities,” said Aaron Espinoza from Insomniac in the Blog post.

Other tidbits worth highlighting include being able to switch between Peter Parker and Miles Morales in the open world nearly instantly and a new set of abilities and skills. Peter will have access to Symbiote powers, while Miles has access to his bioelectric venom powers and Evolved venom abilities.

The game will also feature 65 different suits for both of the Spider-Men to wear. Additionally, players can further customize the suits through Suit Styles, a feature that unlocks alternate color shaders for some suits, allowing the players to customize each hero. 10 more exclusive suits will be available for players who purchase the Digital Deluxe edition of Spider-Man 2.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be available exclusively on PlayStation 5 on October 20, 2023.
