Not even a few months after the release of the colossal-selling Skylanders Giants, Activision is already on the march for a new entry in the series for 2013 – but with a twist.
The company has announced Skylanders Swap Force, a new game that’s in development over at Vicarious Visions – a change from the previous developer at Toys For Bob. (Relax, they’re working on the next big Skylanders sequel.) The game will feature an all new adventure to take on, along with 16 additional figures, with inter-connecting torsos and bottom halves. This lets you put whatever creation you prefer in the game, each with small but pleasant effects depending on how you play.
Though gameplay features haven’t been entirely laid out, one thing we know for sure is that you will finally be able to jump. Yes, Skylanders know how to use their legs. Whew. In addition, the game will be compatible with all previous Skylanders figures and equipment.
It’s coming this fall for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U, Wii and 3DS. We’ll have more information on it in the weeks ahead, complete with a strategic preview.
