Shaquille O’Neal Making Return To Video Games This Week With Shaq Down

Whatever you do, don’t call it Shaq Fu II.

Back on the Sega Genesis and SNES, basketball player Shaquille O’Neal tried to make a dent in the video game market with the fighting game Shaq Fu.  Unfortunately, the game not only failed to live up to the hype, but became one of the biggest jokes in the industry for years to come.  But that apparently isn’t stopping Shaq from giving it another try.  But not with a fighting game this time around.

A website has appeared for a new product called Shaq Down, a game in which a player with large muscles and a fiery basketball (who resembles Shaq, of course) appears to be taking on a zombie apocalypse.  The website states that “Basketball legend Shaquille O’Neal starts in his first action game on mobile!”, indicating the game is coming to iOS and Android.  Relax, console gamers, you’re safe.

The game has a release date of January 8th – tomorrow – but no price point was given.  If you’re curious – or you enjoyed Shaq Fu enough that your heart was stirred into a frenzy – you can find more details over at http://www.shaqdown.com.

Sooo…when’s Kazaam II come out?
