Ryse: Son of Rome Scores Exclusive Digital Comic, Bonus Items

Ryse: Son of Rome, Crytek’s upcoming action/adventure for Xbox One, appears to be a promising title. However, there’s more to the story than you might expect, thanks to a new announcement by the publisher.

Microsoft says that the game will receive a supplementary digital comic that will not only provide additional info on the game, but also allow you to earn in-game gold to make upgrades.

In the comic story spread across three separate books, you’ll learn about Centurion Damocles, who finds himself facing a corrupt general while he fights to free his land.  After a near-death experience, he returns to exact revenge.

The comic book is filled with collectibles, which you can scan and add to the game in order to unlock the extra gold, which you can return to buy new assets and weapons to help conquer Rome.  

The comic will debut alongside the game when it arrives as a launch title for the Xbox One this Fall.
