Xbox Entertainment Studios Filming Documentary On E.T. Burial

It's time to find out what happened to all those unsold Atari 2600 cartridges.
This article is over 10 years old and may contain outdated information

Atari’s ill-fated 2600 game, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, is one of more infamous titles in history. People across the world point to a rumor that says Atari buried an untold number of cartridges in Alamogordo, New Mexico. It’s fun to discuss, but did this really happen?

Xbox Entertainment Studios (XES) will attempt to solve the mystery in a new documentary made in conjunction with Lightbox, spearheaded by two-time Academy Award-winning producer Simon Chinn and Emmy winning producer Jonathan Chinn. It’s the first in a multi-part documentary series that begins shooting January 2014 and will debut exclusively on  Microsoft’s Xbox One and Xbox 360 consoles.

Believe it or not, we actually beat E.T. back in the 80s. It’s quite short when you’re not constantly falling into holes.
