Rockstar Games has certainly stirred up its controversies over the years between such games as Grand Theft Auto and Bully, but nothing stirred the pot more than its brutal third-person action game Manhunt.

Focusing on a death row offender named James Earl Cash, the game put you in a very interesting “kill or be killed” scenario where you’re fighting for your life as instructed by a man known as “The Director”.  The game was a bonafide hit despite its brutal violence, but it’s been years since we’ve heard anything from the franchise since the 2007 release Manhunt 2.

Today we’ll be getting a dose of that classic action back, as Rockstar will be re-releasing the game as a PlayStation Network download when the store update goes live today.  Every ounce of action from the original will return for the price of $9.99.

It may not be everyone’s speed, but if you’re an admirer of Rockstar Games’ work, it’s definitely a must-have.
