Ring of Elysium, the free-to-play battle royale shooter from mobile giant Tencent Games, has just launched into early access today on Steam after being announced for release in the West just last week. Ring of Elysium was originally available exclusively in Indonesia, but the similarities to PUBG caused the game to gain attention from players outside the region.
Ring of Elysium has taken on a natural-disaster theme since its original iteration. In Ring of Elysium, players are trapped on a snowy mountain where a powerful snowstorm has devastated the landscape. The goal is to stay ahead of the storm, avoid hypothermia, and outlive the competition to be among the few survivors to board the rescue helicopter home. You can check out the frosty action in the official trailer for Ring of Elysium below.
According to the Ring of Elysium Steam page, the game will remain in early access for “approximately 3-6 months, depending on the development schedule.” Ring of Elysium is entirely free-to-play, and will remain so even after the early access phase.
Before you jump into Ring of Elysium on Steam, you may want to make sure your PC is ready for battle. Check out the Ring of Elysium system requirements to ensure your rig is up to par.
