The Terminator franchise was golden in the 80s and 90s, between James Cameron’s action-packed 1984 film and the even bigger and better Terminator 2: Judgment Day in 1991. Now Reef Entertainment hopes to capture that same energy with a new video game project called Terminators: The Video Game.
Through the deal, the company has the rights to both of those films, able to use their content within the confines of a video game. “Here at Reef we are huge fans of 1984 & 1991 Sci-Fi action master-pieces” a Reef spokesperson said. “It’s an incredible opportunity and an equally huge responsibility to create a game that does great justice to the motion-pictures. We are studying all aspects and influences of the Terminator universe defined in Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgment Day. We have started on our journey and are drawing on all the diverse materials available to produce a high quality, authentic and exciting Terminator video game.”
There’s no word yet on the game’s release date or platforms, but we’ll have more information soon. In the meantime, here’s a Guns n’ Roses/Terminator video to get you in a nostalgic mood.
