Quantum Break Act 1: Part 3 – Library Chase

Make your way through the library, fending off Monarch agents at every turn as you protect Will!

This article covers Act 1: Part 3 – Library Chase in Quantum Break. In this portion of the game you’ll use your guns and time powers frequently as you engage multiple waves of enemies at each turn. First you need to rescue Will, then you must keep him alive as the Monarch agents are seemingly relentless in their pursuit of the two brothers.

Rescue Will

  • Get to the library.
  • Clear the reading room of enemies.
  • Get to the library.
  • Clear the cafeteria of enemies.
  • Get outside.
  • Get into the library.
  • Find Will.
  • Clear the area of enemies.
  • Help Will.
  • Survive the ambush.
  • Help Will.

Move into the lecture hall and use Vision to find another time anomaly. Head up the stairs and through the door at the top to learn how to use Time Dodge, then dodge to the other side of the room and engage the enemies from behind cover. Head into the next hallway to find another time anomaly, then through the doors ahead.

Clear the enemies on this floor, then head down the stairs in the far right corner to engage the enemies on the floor below. Once all of the enemies have been taken out head through the doors to the left of the stairs.

Head outside and through the construction to reach the fence. Try to open the gate to get through the fence, only to realize it’s locked. Head around to the left side and climb up the portable toilets and over the fence. Grab the narrative object on the blue barrel on the right side of the area, then climb up where the yellow tarp is covering.

When you get to the top of the scaffolding jump to the right, onto the blue lift. You need to quickly move to the next yellow tarp because the lift lowers as soon as you jump onto it. If you’re not fast enough you will have to repeat the process.

Head up the ladder on the wooden platform ahead and use the window to get inside. Go through the doorway to the left and then make your way down the ramp to the lower floor. Engage the enemies below then head down to the next floor below then continue through the large opening and the double doors to the left once you’re in the hallway.

In the next room you learn how to use your time shield, then you need to take down all of the enemies here. You can use the red explosive tanks to make the job easier. When the room is clear head to the far side and up the stairs to help Will.

In the midst of rescuing Will more enemy soldiers attack. Stand hear the ammo stock so you don’t have to worry about running out, then take down the enemies as they come up both staircases. Once the soldiers are down help Will again, then follow him.

Escape with Will

  • Escape with Will.
  • Get outside.

Open the door on the far side of the room and continue to follow Will to the next door to watch another cut scene and come to the end of act one.
