PSA: There’s a Way to Make the Floo Flame Lady Shut Up in Hogwarts Legacy

If you're on PC, anyway.

“Oh, shut up,” you snap as you pass Ignatia Wildsmith, otherwise known as the Floo Flame Lady in Hogwarts Legacy, who calls out, “You wouldn’t believe how inconvenient travel was before I invented Floo Powder!” for the millionth time. I feel your pain. It was fine at first but soon became grating after hearing almost every time you fast-travel.

Well, what if I told you I’m about to change your life? If you’re a PC player, anyway. Because there’s a way to stop her from calling the same voice lines out over and over and over and over and quieting her repetitiveness: by using a Hogwarts Legacy mod.

“Off On Another Adventure, Are We?” AKA Torture By Floo Powder

Created by TangerieDev on NexusMods, also known as an utter lifesaver and the answer to our magical prayers, the mod – appropriately called “Silencio – Floo Lady Silencer” – does exactly what it says it will: provides peace and quiet for Floo Powder users everywhere. Gone are the days of being ridiculed with “What are you up to NOW?”, replaced with pure bliss and uninterrupted traveling.

Installing the mod on PC is easy as pie, too. All you do is navigate to the Paks folder in your Hogwarts Legacy directory and drag and drop the file in. It’s like pressing the mute button on an annoyingly loud TV advert, except it’s a person – think Adam Sandler’s Click movie if it were set in the wizarding world. Her mouth moves, but you can’t hear it.

Look, as a woman myself, I don’t usually agree with silencing anyone. But in this case, I think every Hogwarts Legacy player can agree that this is for the good of wizardkind. After all, St Mungo’s Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries could probably do without additional patients who have been driven mad by constant echoes of “Travel broadens the mind” and “It’s great to see you again!”

If you want to download the mod for yourself on PC and spare yourself the frustration of being subjected to Ms. Wildsmith’s torturous sayings, you can do so here on NexusMods, alongside more detailed installation instructions. You’re welcome.
