It seems the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake has been delayed out of 2020 and is now slated for March 18, 2021. This news comes in a letter from the development team on the Ubisoft Chezh Republic Facebook page, which you can read below.
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Seems To Be Delayed to March 2021
“Hello, Prince of Persia fans!
During our Ubisoft Forward digital conference, we proudly announced the return of the Prince with Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake.
We are excited to put this game in your hands, as we retell the story of the Prince and Farah in a reimagined 11th century Persia. However, 2020 has been a year like no other. Today we wanted to let you know that we are taking additional time to work on the game. With that, the release date for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake has been moved to March 18, 2021. We believe this is the right call to ensure we will deliver a game you will enjoy.
Thank you for your patience and continued support for Prince of Persia and we hope you stay safe and healthy this holiday season.
— The Development Team”
This comes as no surprise, 2020 has been a tumultuous year for many, and game developers are no exception. If the game isn’t ready, then simply push it back if possible. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
The game will be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S via backward compatibility. Fans were not initially impressed with the remake when it was first shown, so maybe some more time in the oven will help bring this game to where it needs to be.
