Pokemon Presents Shows Off Special Dialga and Palkia Switch Lite

If you’re in the market for a Switch Lite, or you’re looking for a cool version of the Switch Lite to add to your collection, you’re in luck as a new Switch Lite option is coming later this year.

Revealed during today’s Pokemon Presents, fans can look forward to the release of the Nintendo Switch Lite Dialga & Palkia Edition on November 5. As of right now, price and pre-order information has yet to be revealed.

Given the release date of November 5 – just three short months away – we imagine we’ll hear more about the cost and availability of the Nintendo Switch Lite Dialga & Palkia Edition soon.

That said, you can pre-order a copy of Brilliant Diamond or Shining Pearl right now on the game’s official website. If you scroll down a tad, you’ll see an image of the special edition Switch Lite with a note that it’ll be available November 5.

While pre-orders aren’t live for it yet, we definitely think it’s worth bookmarking the page and checking back for updates. It probably won’t cost too much more than the Switch Lite’s price of $199.99 (USD), if it costs more at all.

If the idea of a Dialga and Palkia Switch Lite feels familiar but you can’t quite place why, it may be because Nintendo and The Pokemon Company did something similar back in 2006 with the release of Diamond and Pearl. At the time, a special DS Lite was released alongside Diamond & Pearl featuring – you guessed it – Dialga and Palkia.

The visual designs are similar, with the DS Lite featuring a black base color and gold and silver Dialga and Palkia outlines on top, while the Switch Lite comes with black buttons and a dark grey base color, along with gold and silver outlines of Dialga and Palkia (this time on the back rather than the front).

Nintendo also released a special Switch Lite in celebration of Pokemon Sword and Shield called the Zacian and Zamazenta Edition, although this one had a few more customizations with a light grey base color, blue and magenta colored buttons, and outlines of Zacian and Zamazenta on the back in dark grey.

Comparatively, the Nintendo Switch Lite Dialga & Palkia Edition sports a simple, yet appealing design. Whether you like the design or not, it’s a great opportunity for Pokemon Diamond and Pearl fans to relive the original release of Diamond and Pearl in a more modern way, and we think that’s pretty awesome.
