The highly anticipated indie MMORPG Palworld, described as “Pokemon with guns,” will be released on January 19, 2024. But Xbox players with a Game Pass subscription can now preload the game onto their system. You wouldn’t want to miss a single minute of gun-blazing, Pal-enslaving action, would you? Unfortunately, PC players will have to wait before they can preload.
For players who want to get ahead of the curve, preloading Palworld is easy. Head to your Xbox main menu and select the Game Pass icon at the top of the screen. Once in the Game Pass menu, search for “Palworld.” Selecting the Palworld game may send you to the Microsoft shop, but you can opt to download it in this menu.
An alternative method is to preload the game through the Xbox mobile app. To do this, you’ll need to download the Xbox mobile app and connect your Xbox profile to it. Then, select the magnifying glass icon at the bottom of the screen. Search for Palworld, and you’ll see the option to download the game.
While the Palworld preload technically became available on January 11, players across Reddit, Twitter, and Discord have commented that they’ve been unable to preload Palworld. As of January 12, 1:30 EST, I count myself in that number. It’s likely that this issue will be resolved later in the day or as we draw closer to the official release date.
We’ll provide an update once these errors have been resolved.
If you succeed at preloading Palworld, expect the game to take up 6.09GB of your memory. Not bad for an MMORPG with over 100 powerful Pals to collect and options to play both solo and with friends. And yes, solo players will be able to play offline.
