If you wondered if The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt would become one of the biggest games of 2015, over one million people pre-ordered CD Projekt Red’s gorgeous open world adventure.
“We’ve crossed the one million pre-order milestone and it’s all thanks to you guys! We would like to thank all the gamers for their trust and support,” said Marcin IwiÅ„ski, co-founder, CD Projekt Red. “This is the last stretch and we’re pushing hard — over the last two weeks, we’ve increased performance on all platforms and started working full speed on the expansions, Hearts of Stone & Blood and Wine,” concludes IwiÅ„ski.
While on the subject of DLC, the developer will release 16 downloads, but don’t grab your wallet because they’re all free! In fact, CD Projekt Red will release two DLCs per week beginning May 20.
The Witcher 3 casts gamers as series hero Geralt of Rivia as he explores the Northern Kingdoms in the hopes of finding a living weapon referred to as the Child of Prophecy and destroying supernatural adversaries, among other enemies. With over 100 hours of gameplay, you’ll spend the bulk of your time hunting monsters, completing a wealth of side quests, exploring the detailed world and sitting down at the tavern to enjoy some Gwent, The Witcher 3’s collectible card game.
We plan to support this title in a big way, with Prima’s The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Collector’s Edition Guide that you can pre-order now. If you prefer digital, we also have an eGuide. No matter which one you choose, expect in-depth strategies, maps and other useful pieces of information to help you beat the game.
Meanwhile, we will also publish a free Witcher 3 walkthrough and various tips articles, including strategies for mastering Gwent and completing all of the side quests.
The Witcher 3 releases May 19 for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
