This article is over 5 years old and may contain outdated information

Earlier this year, a plethora of new movie images leaked for the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog live-action movie and they were so … odd that even Sonic’s creator wasn’t feeling the design. Still, images aside there is much that we don’t know about the film on the horizon, at least until now. The studio behind the upcoming adaptation has officially revealed our first look at the upcoming movie, as well as a first look at Jim Carrey in his latest role:

According to the video’s official description, “Sonic the Hedgehog is a live-action adventure comedy based on the global blockbuster videogame franchise from Sega that centers on the infamously brash bright blue hedgehog. The film follows the (mis)adventures of Sonic as he navigates the complexities of life on Earth with his newfound – human – best friend Tom Wachowski (James Marsden). Sonic and Tom join forces to try and stop the villainous Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) from capturing Sonic and using his immense powers for world domination. The film also stars Tika Sumpter and Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic.”

We’ll be able to see the full movie for ourselves, including how the entire world of Sonic adapts to this real-world vision when the movie drops this November.
