It’s a good week for Nintendo downloads, as the company has updated their eShop this morning for both Wii U and the 3DS, with plenty to choose from.

On the Wii U front, the company has kicked off its Virtual Console program, offering the NES classic Balloon Fight for a reasonably cheap $.30.  Though the graphics haven’t updated much, the customizable controls are rather cool.  And, hey, it’s Balloon Fight.

Also, Sega’s The Cave has released for the eShop, available for $14.99.  The game features excellent character switching mechanics and plenty of puzzles to solve.

And if you’re into retail games, you can get the strategy game Funky Barn as well.  A price wasn’t disclosed, but we’re guessing you can get it for $29.99.

Meanwhile, over on the 3DS, Ubisoft has released Tony Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars 3D ($29.99) as a full retail download, so you can check out the critically acclaimed strategy game for yourself.  A new game, Cocoto Alien Brick Breaker ($4.99) is also available, with a set-up similar to the classic Breakout games – but with a twist, of course.

Other noteworthy additions include a free downloadable demo for the forthcoming Brain Age: Concentration Training, which lets you try out a few mind-bending exercises to see how you fare.  And if you’re a classic NES gamer, you’ll definitely want to pick up Super C ($4.99), Konami’s entertaining run-and-gun sequel.  (But where’s the original Contra?!)

Check out these games now on the eShop service.
