Nintendo may not be holding its usual pre-E3 press conference as it’s done in years past, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t eager to show off what it’s working on next for the Wii U and 3DS. Hours before the E3 event is set to begin, the company will be hosting a special media event and Nintendo has more details of said event.
The “Wii U Software Showcase” will begin at 10:30 AM PDT on the E3 show floor, with Shigeru Miyamoto and Nintendo of America COO Reggie Fils-Aime holding a short presentation before allowing hands-on with the games from 11:00 AM-12:00 PM for the attendees. The show will open up shortly thereafter, where Nintendo’s booth is likely to be flooded with people.
Many games are expected to be shown at Nintendo’s booth, including a new Wii U Mario game from the creators of the Super Mario Galaxy franchise, a new Wii Party game, and sequels to Super Smash Bros. and Mario Kart.
One would think that Nintendo might live stream the event for those who can’t make it as part of its Nintendo Direct program. Regardless, we’ll have full coverage of the E3 event as it happens, so be sure to check back for previews and other news.
