Nintendo Announces The Legend of Zelda Tears of The Kingdom OLED Switch & Pro Controller

Tears of my wallet.

During the gameplay demonstration for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom, Nintendo announced that a new custom Nintendo Switch OLED would launch alongside its release. The new OLED model is designed after Tears of the Kingdom and features some beautiful artwork on both the Joy-Cons as well as the OLED dock.

The OLED model will release on April 28, 2023, and will not include a copy of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. So you’ll still need to purchase the game separately, which is Nintendo’s first ever $70 game.

The OLED dock features a gold Hylian Crest and other ornate designs, while the Joy-Cons feature a green and white design on both of them.

Nintendo also announced a new Nintendo Switch Pro Controller and carrying case for the Switch, which will both release on May 12, 2023, alongside the release of Tears of the Kingdom.

The Pro Controller, which can be seen below, features a similar gold and white design as the OLED dock. The Hylian crest is on the controller’s center in an understated black.

The carrying case has a different design on it, showcasing the decrypted hand used to symbolize Link’s Ultrahand ability, which was shown off in the gameplay showcase earlier today.

The Nintendo Switch Pro Controller and carrying case are sold separately from the game and the OLED Switch model. So if you want to get all of the Tears of The Kingdom merch, it’s going to cost you a pretty penny.
