Is The Legend of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom $70? Answered

Yes, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom is going to cost you $70. This is the first Nintendo game to push past the $60 standard price we have seen for over a decade.

However, this is not the case for every new Nintendo release. Pikmin 4, which releases on July 21, 2023, is still being priced at $60. This game comes out after Tears of The Kingdom but does not have the $70 price tag.

It seems Nintendo is testing the waters with its prominent A-tier franchises.

If you’re looking to save a bit of cash, you can use the Nintendo Voucher program, which was brought back a few weeks ago. This allows you to spend $99 to redeem for two different games.

So you can pick up Tears of the Kingdom and Pikmin 4, which will save you a little bit of money. Having Tears of the Kingdom priced at $70 seems like a good incentive for people to pick up the Nintendo Switch Vouchers and then use that second one on a game they might not have purchased, like Pikmin or Metroid Prime Remastered. This might help boost the numbers of games Nintendo sees as smaller-selling titles.

So yes, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will be $70, and we don’t know if any future Zelda or Mario games will continue this trend. There was plenty of Nintendo news this week. Check out all of the things included in the new The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Collector’s Edition.
