First off, U.S. gamers will be able to get their hands on a special Mario Kart 8 bundle when the game launches on May 30th, if they don’t have a Wii U already. The package comes with a 32 GB system, a copy of the game, and a special red Mario Wii U remote and steering wheel. It’s priced at $329.99.

In addition, those who pick up Mario Kart 8, either through the bundle or separately, can register it with Club Nintendo and receive a code for a free downloadable game, choosing from four offerings – New Super Mario Bros. U, Pikmin 3, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD and Wii Party U. This offer runs through July 31st.

The Direct special also unveiled a new feature called Mario Kart TV, which will allow players to share their racing antics with others through YouTube, as well as Miiverse. In addition, customized tournaments can also be set up.

Finally, new characters and items will be available. The new Crazy 8 features a smattering of power-ups to choose from, and the Super Horn can blow opponents right off the track. As for the new racers, Baby Rosalina and Pink Gold Peach will join the fray.
