When we last saw Hitman attempt his hand at a video game-based film, we got an adaptation that featured a rather cool Timothy Olyphant in the role. Unfortunately, the storyline and direction really failed to do him justice, and it was left in the same level of obscurity as, say, Uwe Boll’s finest efforts. But that isn’t stopping 20th Century Fox from trying again.
The company is rebooting the Hitman franchise for the big screen once more, and this time it’s calling upon Fast & Furious star Paul Walker to play the mega-assassin. Olyphant is currently busy filming his Justified role, so Walker has been signed on as a younger, balder (?) fill-in.
The film will be directed by first-timer Aleksander Bach, with a script written by Skip Woods and Michael Finch, who previously worked on the forthcoming A Good Day To Die Hard sequel.
No word yet on when filming will begin, but it probably isn’t too far off.
