Ready to beat the dog days of summer with a good action game? Sony has you covered with some great new PlayStation Plus offerings for the month of August.
Leading the pack, starting tomorrow, is Square Enix’s acclaimed sequel Hitman: Absolution, which puts master assassin Agent 47 in his most dangerous and personal assignment yet, as he tracks down enemies tied to a close ally. The digital version, which usually goes for $19.99, will also include additional DLC, including the Deus Ex disguise and handgun for Contracts Mode.
Other games joining the program include Gaijin Games’ engaging Bit.Trip Presents Runner 2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien, Zen Studios’ Zen Pinball 2: Star Wars Pinball for both PlayStation 3 and PS Vita, the puzzle/strategy game Machinarium for PS Vita and the Capcom fighting classic Darkstalkers Chronicle: The Chaos Tower, which is compatible with both PlayStation Portable and PS Vita. These games will be offered over the next few weeks.
In addition to the free Hitman game, PS Plus subscribers can also take advantage of numerous discounts starting tomorrow as well. The remade Team 17 platformer Superfrog HD is 20 percent off at $7.99, while Wicket Monsters Blast! HD is dirt cheap for just a buck. Various Rayman games are also on sale, including Rayman Origins ($5.00 on PlayStation 3, $6.75 on PS Vita), Rayman 3 HD ($2.50) and older games ranging from $1.50 to $2.50.
With arrivals come departures, and the following games will leave PS Plus the next few weeks. Download them as soon as you can.
