New Final Fantasy VII Remake Trailer Finally Gives Us Cross-Dressing Cloud and More Sephiroth

You know this was the moment you were waiting for.

Every look we’ve had regarding the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Remake has us jazzed even if they are changing up the RPG format from the game we grew up with. Still, there was one moment in particular we’ve been waiting with bated breath for and the newest Final Fantasy VII remake trailer has finally given it to us: cross-dressing Cloud Strife.

Final Fantasy VII introduced me to my first video game crush way back when, so to see it in today’s graphics was a dream come true. Seeing the above trailer and seeing Sephiroth in all of his glory is pretty awesome. He was my first major gaming crush as a kid (explains a lot) so I’ll always have a soft spot despite him being a mass-murdering butt. But he’s my mass-murdering butt, you know?

The new trailer is also the main theme song debut and also showed off a few returning elements that many loved from the original in terms of RPG mechanics. While it won’t be exactly the same, which is the point, this new blend of nostalgia and new beginnings looks like it could be as incredible as we all hope both for newcomers and veterans of the franchise!

Final Fantasy VII Remake makes its official debut on April 10, 2020. For even more about the game:

“The first entry in a multi-part saga, delivering a level of depth inconceivable for the original. Mind-blowing story, unforgettable characters, epic battles and technical excellence collide. The world has fallen under the control of the Shinra Electric Power Company, a shadowy corporation controlling the planet’s very life force as mako energy. In the sprawling city of Midgar, an anti-Shinra organization calling themselves Avalanche have stepped up their resistance. Cloud Strife, a former member of Shinra’s elite SOLDIER unit now turned mercenary, lends his aid to the group, unaware of the epic consequences that await him.”
