There is no denying that there is a great deal of love felt by video game lovers for the popular Bioshock franchise that has delivered multiple critically-acclaimed titles. This new development studio will be known as Cloud Chamber, and its primary focus will be creating the next entry in the famous franchise that has captivated the admiration of plenty of players throughout the years.

“As we continue growing our product portfolio, we remain inspired by opportunities to invest further in our valuable IP, great people, and their collective, long-term potential,” said 2K President David Ismailer. “BioShock is one of the most beloved, critically praised, and highest-rated franchises of the last console generation. We can’t wait to see where its powerful narrative and iconic, first-person shooter gameplay head in the future with our new studio team at Cloud Chamber leading the charge.”

Kelley Gilmore will be leading the charge on the development of this new Bioshock title at Cloud Chamber as the Global Studio Head. Gilmore will be looking to her experience working with Civilization’s Sid Meier to help her manage Cloud Chamber’s work on what is now a highly anticipated game that players are already anxiously awaiting to play.

“Sid Meier is not only a game design legend, he is also one of the most kind and humble people I know. Working with him has profoundly shaped how I try to show up at work every day. My 18 years at Firaxis prepared me well for this new role, in that I understand that creating a great place to work does not happen by accident, and it’s a team effort,” Gilmore told GameDaily.

“Steve Martin, Firaxis Studio Head, showed me that you have to make the people and place a priority every day, and from that, the great work will flow,” Gilmore continued. “Clearly, that approach works. Firaxis has been recognized for decades as one of the best video game developers in the world, as well as a really great place to come to work every day. That is what we aspire to do at Cloud Chamber.”

This new Bioshock game will be the fourth entry in the franchise following Bioshock, Bioshock 2, and Bioshock Infinite.

At the time of writing, an official release date window for the upcoming game has not yet been revealed, with the game set not to be released for several more years.
