We knew that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla was releasing this holiday season, but the next-gen revelation prevented Ubisoft from giving us a hard launch date, though the 17th was projected back in August. Now that the cat is out of the bag regarding the Xbox Series X and S, the studio has confirmed that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will be releasing on November 10th, making it a next-gen Xbox launch title.

“We are excited to announce that players will be able to discover Assassin’s Creed Valhalla sooner than expected! We cannot wait to see the world we’ve been creating over the past 3 years coming to life on all platforms, including on the next generation of consoles with the Xbox Series X | S on November 10.” said Julien Laferrière, Producer on Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.

We have had several exciting looks at the next-up Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, including our own hands-on time with the game. Being able to alternate between a male or female Eivor is a step the team took from Odyssey, and a welcome mechanic that makes this world even more in tune with the player’s wants when diving into a new world.

The original release date previously given was a tentative November 17th, likely masking the reveal for the arrival of the next Xbox. Still, it looks like the game will be here sooner and will have some stiff competition when it comes to launch titles with the likes of Cyberpunk 2077, the new Call of Duty, and more arriving around the same timeframe.

We recently were given an opportunity to play a few hours of the new Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and while we wish we could have experienced more of the story, it seems like a phenomenal blend of the new mechanics seen in Odyssey and what so many loved of Assassin’s Creed 2.
