If you’re an Xbox Live Silver subscriber – which comes with free yet limited online features over the Gold subscription – chances are you’re a little bummed that you can’t take advantage of said features. Thankfully, Microsoft’s giving you a freebie this weekend.
The company has announced that its Netflix streaming service will be open to all users this weekend, even the Silver ones, so you can see how well it works on the service. Granted, you still need a Netflix subscription to check it out, but there’s no better time to get one, as its first original series, the Kevin Spacey drama House of Cards, just made its debut. And it’s a scorcher.
In addition, you can also access the Hulu Plus channel and see all the services that it has to offer, and it comes with no charge for this weekend. This includes catching a variety of current and classic shows, all from the convenience of your game console.
Remember, these services are only open for this weekend, so watch what you can while you have the chance. Oh, look, they have Serenity on there. We know what we’re watching tonight…
