Today during a livestream from Japan, Capcom announced that Monster Hunter: World will receive one final beta test before the game’s release on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on January 26. The beta will only be available on the PlayStation 4—as all previous betas have been—and players will get one more chance to try the game out and see what the New World has to offer.
The announcement of a final beta also comes with the reveal of new details surrounding Monster Hunter: Worlds first DLC, as well as the return of Elder Dragons in Monster Hunter: World. You can find out more info about that in our original post, which we’ve linked above.
Those looking to dive into the final beta can do so between January 18-22, just a few short days before the game’s final release on January 26. Like the previous betas, players will be able to hunt down the Great Jargas, Anjanath and Barroth. On top of these three, though, they’ll also get a chance to face off against the Nergigante, the game’s flagship monster.
January is an exciting time for Monster Hunter fans, and if you haven’t already, you should definitely check out the new trailer that reveals the return of Elder Dragons. Capcom have also announced that Monster Hunter: World will receive a ton of post-launch support including both paid and free DLC. This formula is similar to the DLC pattern that they’ve followed for the past several years with the Nintendo DS line-up of Monster Hunter games, and fans will be happy to know that the formula isn’t going anywhere.
We’ll be sure to update our article with more exact times once they are announced for the final beta, until then make sure you check out our Monster Hunter: World preview to get an idea of what the game has to offer.
